The furniture designed by Ari Bayuaji is, in essence, functional artwork which employs recycled teakwood in construction. Old teak has a markedly different quality from teak harvested today as it is more dense, richer in colour, and less prone to deformation.

The daybed is made of solid teakwood deriving from old timber from a dismantled house. The back side of daybed is composed by thick solid teakwood from a staircase in an old Dutch colonial house built in 1920 in Salatiga, Central Java.
